One of my chars is a war/el. I use air magic, glimmering mark elite with a shocking damage sword. After i use all my energy spells and such i hit them with glimmering mark then Bonetti's Defense right away. Each time I hit a foe with my shocking sword he and all other foes around get blinded for 3 seconds. Blind gets renewed for 3 secs each time i hit that foe. That works fine and dandy.

When i have low energy i turn on Bonetti's Defense, but when they miss while blinded i dont get my 5 energy. With blind they already have 90% miss rate With Bonetti's Defense i get another 75% but they dont give me energy, until the blind effect wares off and the 75% miss rate from bon's kicks in. Try it and confirm plz.

Thats not broken "You gain 5 energy for each successful melee attack blocked" since they are blind, you arent blocking their attacks because they are missing
